i was at bass pro and the guy told me to buy the hornady custom btsp 162gr bullet. i got it for elk but now im doubting what do u think.

You didn't say what cartridge but I am assuming either 308 or 30-06.

You will be just fine assuming they shoot good for you. Despite what some people think they don't wear body armor.

Yes an elk can take a 250 grain .338 bullet right through both lungs and not hardly flinch but that doesn't mean that the lungs haven't been demolished and the elk will die in about 10 seconds.

That weight bullet is even better in the 7mm cal.

sweet that is what i want to hear. i paid 33 bucks a box and got two of them so i could sight in good. id hate to have to go to something different

I have a 7 mm mag i am planing on using on a Elk I use the winchester supreme 160 gr acubond Ct :deer:

I know one guy who has shot several moose and at least one decent griz with that bullet out of his 7 mm Rem Mag. It has always worked for him.
