Forget the stupid gun, unless you plan on using it on yourself, and get some pepper spray. You already said a 44 mag was too heavy so anything smaller than that and your just wizzin in the wind.

Bear spray will work a heck of a lot better. Your not going to stop a grizzly with a handgun.

X2 if your life depends upon it. Spray has a better chance of turning a bear.
