Elk scouting trip; pics
 

The boy and i crawled out of bed at 4am and made it to the trailhead by 6am. We took our days packs in a small roadless area. Poor boy is 12 and brought the wrong boots. I cut the toes out about a mile down the trail! He was carrying a Ruger .22 side arm that was pulling his briches down and showing his grundies, LOL, what a site. Anyway, here are some pics.

OK, I get the significance of the upper two pictures (elk wallow and a rub), but what is significant about the lower picture? Is the tree angling across the stream an indication of a rub too? (could be the bark is rubbed off -- difficult to see in the picture)
