Default 300 WSM Moose Round

I have a new Sako 85 300 WSM laminated and need to spend some time at the range before moose hunting. I am planning on bringing a few 180 grain bullets to shot and see which one shots the best. ...likley bring Winchester Supreme Elite XP3, Federal Vital-Shot Nosler Partition and ??. Any other recommendations?

I know from previous posts that the Nosler Partition is a popular choice for moose, but haven't seen any feedback on the XP3. Anybody shoot them?

Thanks.

Barnes TSX, Nosler Parts & Nosler Accubonds would be my 1-2-3 to try. Never tried the XP3 nor heard anyone 1st hand who has either for larger then deer.

I would highly suggest the Barnes 180gr TSX (triple shock). I've shot 2 moose with my 300 wby @ about 150 yds, one through both shoulders, and the other a texas heart shot, both dropped right where they stood. Broadside shot went through both shoulder blades and exited the far side. The other entered the left hind quarter and exited the opposite front side. That's all I'll ever shoot at big game. Very accurate too!! good luck!!!!
