Incredible Elk! Congratulations to Denny Austad and Boone & Crockett for their due diligence in qualifying the monster bull. I hope “spider bull” was able to spread around his DNA in that area for future hunters!

I'm not an horn hunter, but i still think it's too bad you can "buy" a position in B&C, and that's what happened in this case...

This pampered Bull was bought and paid for Period.
The Boone and Crocket was the last bastion of fair chase not polluted by what passes for fair chase these days. Old time hunters know we are on a race to the bottom.
The Bull this one knocks from the top lived in obscurity on public land shared with human hunters and lots of four legged ones too. He died by drowning..........something his large horns probably helped contributed in his demize.
Spider bull would not have achieved his size in any "real elk world." His horns would have made sure he ended up in wolf scatt. Now that wolves have been elliminated from all these Big Elk states, they can pump out freiks and sell them like any fenced ranch.
My hat is off to the Old World record........a true hero of his species.
Fair chase is finished and I am sad and angry.
For the hunter, I hope he lives to see hunting eliminated, because it will be.
