I was on public land, I dont hunt private.....Guess I dont know anyone that has land. I had a good year, did a lil bear hunting, but Im picky now that I shot that Idaho Book bear...kinda hard to beat ya know. As far as the muley, I just decided to fill the tag since I paid for the trip down there. And I had never shot a muley.....and considering My taxidery bill is getting up there..lol so I settled with the Big Bull and muley meat. How'd the rest of you do this year?

Nice bull and yes you're damn lucky shooting it on the road!! I've packed too many of them out of the middle of nowwhere on my back. So did you have it aged by its teeth? I'd be very surprised if he weighed that much.. very few Rocky Mountain Elk get anywhere close to that weight. Roosy's can get that heavy.

Well considering we weighed it, and not only that, who do you know that ends up with 430lbs of meat?.....they may take in that much with the bone, but Ive guided for quit a few years and have packed probably twice the amount of Elk that you ever will, so Im pretty sure that its a safe guess.....but thanks for playing

Nice Bull! Congrats! I got a young 5x5 this year, my first elk. Mine was smaller and 2 miles in. Still a trophy to me.
