Colorado- 27 miles from Meeker, public land, 1st rifle season
Tags-6 either sex and one cow tag
Base Camp- 2 badass rv's and an outfitter tent
Second Camp-1 hour drive on atv,s, one small tent

We have been up scouting two times in the last month, and things look good.We are arriving early thursday morning and will have 2 days to come up with our strategy. I plan on hunting an open meadow the first morning, and hunting the timber when it gets warm. As late as the rut was, I think the bulls will still come to the call.

If anyone is in the area and sees a trailer with my Luckydog logo, please stop by for a cold one. Good luck to all!!

Edit-We will be at Sleepy Cat restraunt and bar Sunday evening for a couple of beers.(Unless we are taking care of downed animals.)

Going to New Mexico unit 6b rifle
Hunting late November the week before Thanksgiving
Staying in town and driving into our area each morning (<30 mins) we have taken 2 elk in this same area in the last two years...staying in town seems to work for us!

Have already been Elk hunting......Colorado archery opening week Aug./Sept. This was abase camp only hunt(see pic). I'm save'in points for next year in hopes of getting back to the backpack hunts I love so much!! I drew a ranching for wildlife cow tag but the DOW said that I couldn't have myES archery tag and the RFW tag. So I traded one for the other.I'd like to get on a cow hunt but the areas that I'm familiar with didn't have any leftovers[:@].

I took a broken up 5x5. So I guess I can't complain:)

archery season
public lands
stayed in a road side tent in about the middle of the hunting area. Did some spot and stalk and some calling
Killed my bull on Sept. 20th. He came to my cow calling!

Elk hunters!
** Where are you headed this year?Both on the Snowy Range or Sierra Madre range in Southeastern WYOMING!!!!!!
** What season are you hunting (include a month)? Entire month of September for Archery and October 15-31 Rifle.
** What's your camp location/typestrategy? Camp off main road, 4wheeler up the nasty road and then walk, walk, walk.
** When do you leave? Mentioned above Entire month of September and last two weeks of October.

Tag still not filled so on to rifle season.
