Ontario Bear Hunt in 2004
I am planning on booking a baited bear hunt for the fall of 2004 in Ontario. Any positive or negative comments on outfitters would be greatly appreciated. Most likely taking our bows but may also consider our rifles. They say references are the best way to choose an outfitter.

One thing to consider is a spring bear hunting in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba. The 3 prairie provinces all have spring bait seasons, where you are likely to see more bears, and will compare in size to anything in Ontario. Plus, many areas in Alberta are offer a 2 bear limit! Just something to think about. If your driving up the east coast you could always head over to Quebec which offers a spring season. Quebec has absorbed alot of hunters since Ontario bowed down to some animal rights tards from the UK! |

NB also has a spring bear season, and there are som BIG ones, in NB. No colour phases, though. If you' re interested, contact me off the board - I am a booking agent, and can provide reputable Outfitters from all over Canada, including Ontario. You are right - check references, including, if available - references from hunters who didn' t fill their tags. They give the best representation of how hard an Outfitter worked, to get their quarry.

RE: Ontario Bear Hunt in 2004
Have a friend of mine that went to a place called Thaddeus Lake Lodge, believe they are located by Dryden, Ontario. He had a great time there and got a real nice Pope and Young Blackie, and everyone in camp that week saw or harvested a bear. Thinking I might go there not this fall but next.
I did a search on them and their website is www.thaddeuslakelodge.com Looks like a real nice place. Good luck |
