I've heard moresketchy stuffabout caribou hunts than any other hunt.
My cousin years ago went out with a now out of business outfitter.
Got to camp, had garbage guides, everyone there, on the same hunt, all paid different prices...
May consult a lawyer and send the head guy a letterthreatening legal action if not corrected, and you may even get some cash back, I'd probably go that route right away.
How did you book the hunt? through a outfitter like cabelas etc...? that is one reason to pay more and go through someone reputable. Good luck to you.

This just took place on Friday so because of the weekendnot much information has been available. We are still looking for some basic answers. Some have made contact with the tourismdepartment and the outfitters association and Ibelieve their version of our fish and game department.Apparently The different departments have expressed a great deal of concern and will do some investigating. How far it goes I have no idea at this point. I do know that the Outfitter is an Inuit owned corporation that is a subsidiary ofanother inuit corp. So in that sense one letter from an attorney will no doubt have little effect, especially considering the corp. is in receivership.
The face of the company was two US based booking agents who may or may not have been on the company payroll, it's hard to determine at this point. There have been numerous great reviews of this company so everyone involved has been cought off guard by this. Like I said, this just happened and no one has anything but sketchy reports right now, everyone that has been affected by this is still trying to sort it out.

I too got took on this deal. I'm out $5200 as of right now. I hope we can all stick together and get some results. This would have been my first caribou hunt. Don't know if I will be able to come up with that much money again to put on a hunt. I save for 1 1/2 years for this one. You might think thats not to long of a time but I did without alot during that time to come up with the cash. [:@]
