elk broadheads

Anybody for mechanicals on elk? Any opinions on the spitfire 100 Gr. for elk?
I' m now looking at the Revolution Titanium, they open by a collar sliding back instead of the blades being pushed out and back like the Spitfires. Nice heavy chisel point too.

If I were to use mechanicals on elk, it would be the NAP shockwave. I like those heads a little more than the spitfires, but both are great mechanical broadheads. My buddy swears by the spitfires, and I really have no reason to doubt them. I' m sure they will work well with the right set up. I wouldn' t consider them if I was shooting a lighter poundage bow however.

Holy Cow! [:o] That' s betting the ranch if I' ve ever seen it! I wonder how Wendy would like that bet Robert! :D

Acutally, it is illegal in Alaska to use mechanicals on moose, grizzly/brown bear and mountain goat. Elk is legal I believe, but I don' t have the regs to verify that.

I used a muzzy 125 grain 3 blade on my moose this season, but I' ve used shockwaves on my black bear and my last two caribou and have gotten clean pass throughs on all of them with massive blood trails on each animal.

I did have my muzzy 125 grains set up on my arrows while elk hunting however.

Thanks for the input on m. heads. I went out today and looked at the Revolutions
(Titanium) , and Shockwave, both look good , but the Revolution looks alittle stronger built. One guy told me to shoot thru 3/4 in. plywood, but I dont feel like replacing my carbon C/X arrows.
