Hey all, I live in MT now, moved up from SE Kansas. I am heading out the first part of Sept. to bow hunt elk, and deer if they show, by the CMR, MT HD 620/621/622. I am up to speed on a lot, but was curious, what is the thing you forgot you wished you had not?

We didn't forget it, we were just ignorant.
Up until we killed our first elk we had everything we needed, then came the field dressing partand since we didn't know how to do the Alaskan method.... we really needed a bone saw or hatchet, either would have been a god send.Elk ain't deer. For a conventional field dress, "knives only" just doesn't cut it (no pun intended). I don't care how big the knifeor how strong you are.

A good first aid kit with peroxcide and super glue! We didn't forget it, but it saved me from going to the emergency room for stitches. I layed my finger open with a broadhead. A little peroxcide and super glue and I was still hunting!

I usually take too much, but then I get in a hurry and forget my common sense. One time I remembered the bandana but forgot that I always put extra TP in my fanny pack. Waste of a good bandana.
