What did you forget?
Hey all, I live in MT now, moved up from SE Kansas. I am heading out the first part of Sept. to bow hunt elk, and deer if they show, by the CMR, MT HD 620/621/622. I am up to speed on a lot, but was curious, what is the thing you forgot you wished you had not?

I have so been guilty of a pack that felt like it had the chysler building in it. I have really got it down in weight and I seem to be able to hunt a lot more!

RE: What did you forget?
We didn't forget it, we were just ignorant.
Up until we killed our first elk we had everything we needed, then came the field dressing partand since we didn't know how to do the Alaskan method.... we really needed a bone saw or hatchet, either would have been a god send.Elk ain't deer. For a conventional field dress, "knives only" just doesn't cut it (no pun intended). I don't care how big the knifeor how strong you are. |
RE: What did you forget?
EKM,
What's the Alaskan method? Same as the Gutless? Bugs. |
RE: What did you forget?
A good first aid kit with peroxcide and super glue! We didn't forget it, but it saved me from going to the emergency room for stitches. I layed my finger open with a broadhead. A little peroxcide and super glue and I was still hunting!

RE: What did you forget?
Forgot hunting boots one time. Spent a weekend hunting in Sketchers athelitic shoes. Lucked out on the weather and got my elk ...blood ruined the shoes tho.

RE: What did you forget?
I usually take too much, but then I get in a hurry and forget my common sense. One time I remembered the bandana but forgot that I always put extra TP in my fanny pack. Waste of a good bandana.
