Man I miss Colorado.
I found some old picturesin a drawer and they made me long for the mountains again.
I scanned acouple of pics thatI took a few years ago whenI lived in Colorado for you guys. I was nice being able to go just a couple of miles from thehouse and see things like this. These elk are 100% wild. ![]() |

Man, I know what you mean...I have lived here in Southern California for the last 12 years...we are getting ready to move out of California's economic mess and move back up to Montana...I lived in Montana in the early 80's and loved every day of it. Very nice pics...

I thought you lived in CO? what state now? Do you still hunt elk often?
I also lived out there foronly a couple of years, do consider moving back out west. Have wondered for hunting purposes, what state was the best state to be a resident of......why some states may have more/better trophy quality, do they lack the opportunity? Not sure where I'd move, you people are too nice out there though! haha. |
RE: Man I miss Colorado.
Still live in CO, and still love it!

I too miss Colorado. I grew up in Colorado and hunted elk every year. But moved to Kansas years ago due to a super job! Lucky for me it was only 180 miles from the Colorado border.
Now I kind of have the best of both worlds. Live in Kansas and hammer huge Whitetail on a friend’s private ranch. But fortunate enough to know good locations to hunt elk and return every year I draw a permit to give the big bulls a run for the money. Non-resident permits are kind of ouchy.....But a guys got to hunt...... Still nothing like living in the mountains! Goatslayer…….. |

I've only been to Colorado twice, hunting turkey and elk. Loved every minute
of it. It's hard to get those mountains and other scenery out of my mind. In fact my daughter got married last year and is expecting. Yesterday I suggested to her she should name the baby Colorado if it is a boy. She wasnt real impressed but my son-in-law thought it was a good idea. We will see. |
RE: Man I miss Colorado.
Well I was transplanted here over 20 years ago from Michigan, and as an avid bowhunter, Colorado ranks right up there forthe animals to be hunted. You can start out by chasing antelope on theplains, flat no coverin August, end of August and through September you are chasing elk at 10,000 feet and come the first of October you go out to the eastern plains for big mule deer and huge whitetails. I have a friend in Montana and I would say that comes awful close to Colorado if not a bit better, but I love Colorado and will never leave, well not willingly anyways....
