Use Google Maps to calculate distance, just free form the to and the from and include the word "distance" in the line and it will add it up for you.

Western Nebraska, to
Western Montana near the Idaho border, guessing
About 1,020 miles, more than I thought, going to be short compared to some for sure.
Rifle Elk hunt.

You can use Google Maps and just type in the two end points (it doesn't require towns) and get the mileage, include the word "distance" and it will add it up for you.

For example Mulie Fever about 2,600 miles (what did you hunt out there?)
For another example, dayna0306 about 4,700 miles (what did you hunt out there?)

Howler,

2,650 miles.

Schultzy,
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
Minneapolis to Boise = 1,500 miles, what were you hunting?
================================================== =
So far, no one under 1,000 miles and no one over 4,700 miles.
IMHO if it is far enough away from home that you have to sleep away from home, then you are getting out there... 200 miles and/or eight hours is a right fair piece, though the multi-1000 mile trips.... now you are talking about an epic.
Honestly folks, it is not that hard to calculate your distance or name the game animal and makes it a lot more meaningful, otherwise you could have just been hunting for a girlfriend on a Caribbean Cruise.... arguably a finer sport, but ain't what we are looking for here.

Iunderstand now why I see so many hunters get crosswise of the Colorado DOW regulations.
Still between 1050 and 4700.
