What are u planning on applying for??
 

Site is a little slow. It's pushing spring & application will soon be coming out. What is everyone applying for? I've got 1 more year before I can apply for Rocky Mtn Bighorn, So I'll send in for a desert ram---- Better chance of getting hit by lighting !! But for a $3 application fee , I take the chance. Not enough points for a WY moose so just sent in the fee for another point. Coiuple more years before I draw an antelope tag. Not sure if I want to use my points for elk in 76, probably save them for a couple more years & draw up in Unit 2. High country mulies interest me, see if I can draw one of those? Anyone else dreaming of drawing that treasured tag??

I'm putting in for elk in a next to impossible to draw unit here in Idaho. I've looked into this unit and there are 375+ bulls there. It's a unit with few tags but is open for bow or rifle, I would like to hunt it with a bow, it would be an awesome hunt if I was lucky enough to draw it. It is something to dream about and look forward to here in the off season. Luck to you Colorado Bob on what ever you decide. elknut1.

Ill probly just apply for controlled deer hunts, maybe antelope just to get a prefrence point there.

I am putting in for the Moose, Antelope. Also I am tring an elk unit in an area that is also hard to get drawn for since it borders Yellowstone and also I am going to get an over the counter antlerless deer permit.:) Oh I can't wait.<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

I already drew an Archery Dall Sheep for Oct. I will apply for a cow moose and a bison. Maybe an archery moose on the army base. I have an area nearby for registration hunts for archery mountain goat and archery bull moose with no restrictions. And of course I will be carrying a Grizzly tag everywhere I go. If time ever allows I will try to go north to hunt caribou, but its quite a ways from home and not easy to get that far.

It took me 13 years to finally draw a Mtn Goat tag !! I drew 2 sheep tags in those 13 years. Both are great animals. Only word of advice is to get the goat mount in 1/2 body size or full if you can afford it. My Billy had great pantaloons !! But I did a shoulder mount & regret it now !<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'm starting off with an application for Elk in Wyoming. If I don't get that then I'll turn that application fee around (plus a little more) and apply in New Mexico. Both those draws are about a 35% chance. I am going to draw pref. points for Deer and Elk in Colorado and a bonus point for Elk in Az. I am also working on a Moose hunt in Alberta. If all goes well I'll be hunting elk for a week in October then home for a hot meal and clean clothes and off to Alberta to hunt Moose. This will truly be a banner season if I can pull it all together!!
