Default Lander WY public land hunting ?

I'm moving to Lander, WY the middle of Feb. What public land is nearby(withing 2 hours) for Mulie, elk, or Antelope next fall? I won't have much time after I get there to find a place before I have to send off the application. Also, any advice for what I'm most likely to get me drawn.

If I was a horse; they'd have shot me.

Rambler,
Great car BTW. Yer movin' into BeaverJack country. Better jus' stay on yer side of the mountings. You ain't been there, have you? Plenty of pubic land, but lots of mountin men what will gut you crotch to eyeball fer movin' in on their turf. Stray onto the reservation wilderness, an' they won't find enuff of you to bury in a matchbox. Other then that, welcome to Wyomin'.

Geese BJ,
I thought we in Montana had a monopoly on that kind of behavior.
You know ~ Uni-bomber, Freemen and the like.

Montaner? Montaner's where all the hippie *****s go onct they smoke their brains with drugs. Them fellers thet run around with pot bellies an' autoloaders in their lil' army uniforms wouldn't last a day in the real mountings. Any mountin man worth is mocersins would tear up one of them fat no=accounts an' still have enuff wind to pack the sucker back to camp fer knife throwin' practice.

1eyedfish,
You have to live a year before you get resident status for hunting and fishing. That's okay it will take me a year to learn my way around anyhow.

Beaverjack,
I may roam into your neck o' the woods sometime just ta hunt with ya'. I spent most of my early years sniping Red and Fox squirrels out a treetops and barkin' grays off a limbs back in ol Kaintuck. I reckon I might want to hunt with somebody what knows a thing or two that I don't sometime so I might look ya up. As fer strayin' into that Wind River area, I guess to be remembered on some warriors Coups stick is better than not bein' remembered at all!
Oh and Montaner? I only knowed one feller from Montany and I came to think that they rap them boys springs a might tight up there. I guess it's all them lonsome winters with nothin but sheep for comp'ny.

If I was a horse; they'd have shot me.

Hell, you sound like a right sensible feller Rambler. Yer welcome in my camp anytime. Barkin' squirrels is a prime qualificashun. Lemme know when you git to Lander. I ain't real knowledgeable bout thet side of the mountings, so I gotta git myself lost once or twice. Allays wanted to cross the pass, but its a hell of a trip on hossback.

Welcome to the board Rambler.
Beav, its a good thing I consider the source, I could see where some Montanans would take your statement offensive, but as usual, You insert foot in mouth. I know that you would not make a statement as that around my campfire and be able to hunt the next morning.
By the way my name is Bobby and I do not do any of those things as you stero typed us as doing.

Well hell, sombody give Bobby a brownie button. He don't do none of them thangs. If he could git thet stick outta his arse, he might even be tolerable round a campfire. BTW, Bobby, the adult form of yer name is Robert or Bob.
