New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
..... supposedly. I got these pictures in an e-mail this evening. The e-mail said it was taken near Two Hills Alberta, and will be on the cover of Buck magazine soon. I'll believe it when I see it. Look at how close the guy is holding the deer to the camera. The deer is so close the pictures aren't even focused right. The guy looks like he's really short too. If it is real, it's one heck of a deer.

RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Can you say "Photoshop"?
Ron:D |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I doubt it is photoshoped, but people certainly know how to make their trophies look larger than what they are. Why would you do that anyway, he is a beast no matter what. Just take a dang picture of him like you should. Great buck.

RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Its not photoshop I do photoshop for a living. It is trick photography though the deer is always 2 ft. closer to the camera thhent he guy which gives a lot bigger look. The deer is a whopper anyway someone just can't be satisfied with a great deer they have to lie to feel like the big man.

RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
He looks like he's pretty well lit, and the lighting appears to be early AM....makes you wonder how legal the hunt was.
Something here just doesn't seem right....of course I may just be jealous too!!! |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I remember seeing that buck last year. A heck of a buck though!
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Looks like the real deal to me especially the 2nd and 3rd pics and that canadian looks like he's been smoking some BC bud!
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Great looking buck but I wonder about it when I see him holding the deer up with just the edge of his hand. That head and rack has to weigh a ton and he appears to be just holding it up with ease especially in the last picture. I have held up a bunch of much smaller deer for the camera and always am glad to let the head down after. I vote fake but who knows maybe the guy is Charles Atlas.:D
No it couldn't have been photo shopped. Here is a pic from TDWW who actually harvested it in Florida...see the deer forum:D |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
diddo that, looks like hes havin way too easy of a time holdin that deer up. nice deer regardless though, hope it was all legit.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Someone needs to explain to me why that hunter doesn't have to hold that deers head up, especially in the last pic. where the deers head and neck should be wanting to fall away from the hunter, but yet he has his hand under the rack, not even holding onto it to keep it from falling down.
Maybe the deer is frozen rock solid!! Don't know. Something is amiss! Plus the deer is always in the exact same position, just in a "different" location with the hunter in a different position as well. |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Check it out, the same guy shot the new record sheep. LOL.

LMBO @ Champlain Islander & wyotimberghost. :D
That last picture looks like the guy is going to get his head bit off. |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
The midget with the digit. He looks like GI Joe.:D:D:D:D
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
look at the first couple of pics, there is NO blood in all that white snow....along with the fact that where that deers head should be laying, there is fresh powder. Im calling fake on all accounts.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Definately looks like a Canadian deer, especially Albertan, though doubt it could be the Alberta record wich would be 200+
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Any info where he got that sheep? That sheep is almost as big as the one I got this year, sorry no pics.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I am calling real deer, fake pic. no way can the guy hold up the head of that deer with 1 finger
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I think this is the 4th thread where I've seen these pics in the last two days.[&o]

RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I received emails on this deer and a lot of speculation. B&C website has not confirmed the story yet but it is now under the trophy watch section. Have to wait and see.
As far as posts regarding the holding of the head. I guided for a number of years and pics with the one hand/fingers holding up the head were common. One way to achieve this is to let the deer freeze up in the desired position. Another was the use of a prop (stick, log, stake, etc). The fact the deers eyes appearpartially closedto me indicates the pics weren't taken immediately following the harvest. It could also may suggest the deer was re-located for the purpose of the photo shoot andmight explain the perfect backdrop. I am not saying the deer is legit in any wayjust merely mentioning it's possible without photoshop! If legit he is a hawg, mass is incredible!!! Don't know he'd pull a 200" net number but then again I have seen many mass driven deer fool the eye prior to putting a tape on them. |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
deer doesn't appear to be field dressed yet either...seems fake or the hunter is a little person.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
pretty good deer i probably would have let him pass and waited on another one of those sheep only i would catch it with a live trap put a saddle on it and rode him back to camp so i didnt have to walk.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
my theory:
hunter shoots deer in a.m. hunter drinks all day while deer freezes in the back of a truck. first three poor photos are taken that evening because hunter is drunk. the next day, when both the hunter and deer are cleaned up a little, the last photo is taken. |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
well records gotta be broken sometime. but you can do a lot of stuff with photoshop. ive done it before. if this is all real though a big congrats to the hunter
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....

RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
I saw the website, but no picture of that monster buck. I would think it would be the " Highlight" of the web page, if it were really that huge.
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Nice buck but no way near an alberta record.
|

|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
ORIGINAL: YooperMike Was in the bowhunting forum a couple months ago...its photoshopped. Whilewe may notagree with how they (outfitter) present/take/pose the pictures, they are real deer harvested byhis clients. Some nice deer harvestsbut the presentation cheapens things IMHO. No doubt in my mind many will not tapehow theypicture;). But not my business, just my opinion. |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
if it were real how would he be holding it up like this?? the head would fall down!
????? |
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
guy dude thats pretty noticeable that its fake
|
RE: New Alberta Record Typical Whitetail.....
Having worked in the outfitting business for a number of years, I can tell you that the "minimal effort"hold is not uncommon. Their are ways to acheive this positioning for photo opps such as a prop or allowing the animal to freeze/stiffen in a desired position.Just as ways to take a photo to makesomethingappear "BIGGER". Based on my experience such things aren't black and white to determiningit's"real" or "fake".
FWIW I have no vested interest in this deer or outfitter, frankly could care less....just merely posting based on my experience. HOG, please educate me???:) |
