Which gun for bear?
 

The wife surprised me yesterday with a bear hunt here in NY. I leave tomorrow and haven't even had a chance to think about which gun to bring. My 2 choices are my Marlin 336 in .30-30 or my Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54r. I am equally accurate with both. I am told that the shot won't be over 30 yards.

You will be fine with both guns ,personaly I would use a 100gr. broadhead at that range .Goodluck to ya.

Just got off the phone with the guide. He said the shots will average anywhere between 40-60 yards, but could be longer. So the 30yrd estimate was wrong.[/align][/align]Thanks[/align]
