Looking for a UV free Blaze Orange: Hat and vest
 

You would think some company out there would pay attention to the UV factor in their line of clothes and have UV free fabric in their blaze orange. Anyone know of a line of UV free blaze orange?

Buy what ever you like and just wash it with hunting detergent with no brighteners in it, and leave it outside in the sun every chance you get. Then wash it again. It will dull pretty quick.

Many hunters don't understand that uv stuff, and these manufacturers have to sell bright shiny stuff to unsuspecting hunters.

Leaving it in the sun will get rid of the UV? I didn't know or ever tried that.

I have never heard of a UV factor in any clothes, only brightners in laundry detergent that can bring out the UV brightness. Never really decided whether it is really a problem or just another BS way to sell something. I have neverhad an animal spook from any article of hunter orange that I wore, whether I had used a brightening detergent or not.

Sno-Seal makes a spray on product called U-V-Killer. It is a pump spray applied liquid that deadens the UV brightness of anything that it is applied to. I have used it for years, and it does work. I have sprayed it on my white camo and you can see in the folds or creases that I didn't smooth out when applying it where I have missed. You can check it with a black light to see how the clothes no longer floures after it has dried. It comes in an 18 ounce bottle for about $15.
