RE: Swiss K31 for ELK
I dont know. I thought about this thing for a week and I dont see how you killed it with anything less than a 378 Weatherby. :D What will the hunting world think??? And what's next...elk with a 7.7 Jap or 6.5 Carcano? Good grief!!! :D:D:D
COngrats again on a good job and nice fotos. |
RE: Swiss K31 for ELK
Nice try but as we all know, it takes at least a 338 Win Mag to kill an elk.;)

RE: Swiss K31 for ELK
He He! :DI thought about that too (.338), but the 7.5x55 round was within 200 fps of a 30.06, with the same bullet (.308 165 gr) so I figured what the heck. Maybe next year I'll take the 303 Lee-Enfield.:)

ORIGINAL: James B Nice try but as we all know, it takes at least a 338 Win Mag to kill an elk.;) yea right,i have killed elk with 175 grain federal powershocks from my 7mm rem mag. like my dad always said its not what u got its how u use it. i know that the k31 will do damage first hand i took mine out a couple years ago while my 7 mag was getting repaired and shot a nice forked horn using 180 grn norma spbt, from 100 yrds with only open sights droped this fork dead where it stood. When i got up to itits opposite leg was under its head. when i cut it open the heart looked like hamburger |
