1400 lb Grizzly Bear in AK???
 

I just heard that someone may have killed a 12' 1400 lb grizzly in Alaska. Anyone know if this is true or not, or where there is some info on this. Thanks :)

Walk softly and carry a big gun...or just make accurate shots.

I've heard there is a new possible record pending, but haven't heard much about it yet. There's been the story floating around of the bear that charged the guy, he shot it from 10 yards, blah blah... that thread is on the first or second page here started by the guy that was on the hunt. Not sure if that is the bear you are talking about however, but the real story for that bear is here. It was a 10 footer, roughtly 1200 pounds.

I'm still waiting to hear more on the new pending world record however.

I have not heard of that if which you speak. But I dont read the one sided liberal anti everything newspaper that is so widely distributed in our state. But should'nt the bears be hibernating right now? LaMar G.

wasnt that bear shot in 98 or 99, and if I remember right it was a grizzly not a brownie.
