you should not have a hard time finding a place to hunt here. speed goats are some of the easiest animals to hunt and they are all over wyoming in great numbers first contact http://gf.state.wy.us/ in the hunting section there should be a 1-800# that will get you a person with wich you can find the best chance of a draw then you need to contact the area gamewarden he can tell you which landowners are sportsmen oriented and they are usually very good about helping hunters out remember good optics and be ready to shoot long distances (10 feet to 300 yards) at a small target (6 inch circle) if there is anything else i can help you with email me at [email protected] |
RE: Need help with Pronghorn info!!!
Antelope hunting in Wyoming is hard to beat for fun and lots of action.
The units on the E side of the state are mostly private ground and the odds of drawing are better. Contact the Wyoming Fish and Game and they will send you lists of landowners in your area you can then call and make arrangements to hunt on their land. Most charge a trespass fee. Units on the West and Southern parts of the state are mostly public BLM land and the odds of drawing are worse. Generally the biggest antelope are in the South Central to SW areas. Contact the Fish and Game and they will send you info regarding the respective drawing odds for each of the units. You can put in for one of the good Western public units and then put in for one of the for sure draw Eastern units as your second choice. (some eastern units have tags left over after the draw). There are good antelope in any unit you draw. If you draw one of the public units which has lots of tags you may want to wait a couple weeks before going. There will still be lots of antelope and a lot less people which adds up to a better hunting experience. I have hunted antelope in Wyoming 4 times as a non-resident. Hope this give you some of the info you are looking for. Good luck! |
