Wyoming Region M Mule Deer

I'm heading out next month for a week of mule deer hunting in Region M. My buddy lives there and has a chunk or two of public land scoped out for us to hunt that he usually has good success on. Anyway, if you guys were heading to Region M, which pretty much encompasses areas 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42, 46 and 164, where would you look to have a better than averagechance to score on a decent quality mule deer buck?

Thanks...

If I wanted a better than average chance of finding a big buck, I'd hunt on private land. If I didn't know any land owners in the area, I'd try to find some public land in the foothills of the southern Bighorns (the area behind me in this pic that I took a few years ago). The area around Lysite and Shoshoni has really been hit hard by the drought, and the mountain lions were doing a number on the deer around Copper Mountain the last time I heard.

Thnaks much. I'm not looking for a monster. Just a good chance at a decent animal. I'll keep the info about the foothills in my back pocket in case things don't pan out.

Thanks again...
