muzzleloard for black bear
 
how do you guys feel about using a 50 cal muzzleloader for black bear at a bait station 25 yard shot. any suggestions will be appreciated, thank you

THEY ARE JUST AS GOOD AS A RIFFLE MY FRIEND TOOK A BEAR THIS YEAR IN NEWBRUNSWICK WITH A 50, CAL.M/L THE BEAR WENT 10YARDS , HE WAS USING A OMEGA WITH 100GR, 777, AND 295 GR AREO TIP P/B

I shot one with a 50 cal. at 50 yards ,I could see the blood spraying out the side of him instantly.He piled up after a 40 yard run. Good luck

I know people us the 50 cal. for elk and moose, so I'm sure it would be good for black bear.

I use a 54 cal. but i have some friends that use 50's and they dont have any problems.

bsurplus - I shot a doe with a .54 last year at about 45 yards and can see why you like it. Bang-flop!

as long as you have good shot placement you'll have one dead bear
