North to Alaska!!!
 

Hey Guys & Gals,
I am flying to Alaska this Sunday, for a vessel based bear hunt & fishing trip!
We willfish in the morning & hunt black bears in the afternoon. Life is GOOD! My weapon of choice for black bear?Sako M-995 chambered in 340-weatherby topped with a Swarovski 3X10X42mm scope.

I will post pictures when I get back.

WK, where abouts did you hunt? I'm trying to put together a bear hunt on the POW island for May of 2008. We will be spot and stalk hunting from boats. How did you guys go about it? Troy

I'm leaning towarda bear and caribou combo. I've got relation up there that can be my guide, so I'm thinking that if I am going to hunt for big bear, now's the time to do it before my relation decides to move, plus I've already got one 65" moose on the wall!

Howler, sounds like a great time. This will be my first trip to AK, looking forward to it. I actually got a lot of information about my hunt from a guy right here on this site that was more than helpful. What unit did you guys decide on for CO this year? I have a feeling I'll be doing the OTC thing again unless I can figure out something better. Troy
