That mount looks like its still in top notch shape considering how old it is and wow that thing is huge.

Our granddad had the antlershanging off abarn for several years, and the antlers bleached out. Mydad shot a Montana mulie in the 90's with a cape bigenough to look good with the rack, and hadit mounted for Gramp's birthday surprise. The taxidermist did a heck of a job restoring it.

Shed..you still have the photo of us together holding the mount with Gramp???

Shot this buck on the fly at 50 yardswith a Rem700 classic in .250 Sav with 100gr.Sierra handloads.Two out of three shots to the ribs and when he crested a hill one below the ear.The body shots went through both sides and the neck shot stopped the slug after severing the spinal column.The rutted deer's neck was rock solid.Don't know what he weighed but it took 3 adult males to load him into a half ton box dressed.Got more meat from him than two whitetails and it was just as tender.Harold.......
