Are bears colorblind?

Are they like deer and elk, where they won't be able to pick you out if you are wearing hunter orange?

RE: Are bears colorblind?

Yes they see in colour, sensitive to blue and green spectrum. Some say they see in red as well and have eye sight very close to that of humans.Being near sighted they have good depth of perception up close but at distance poor. With theireye position they tend to be tunnel or binocular visioned, so watch gross movements when they are looking at you directly. As far as setup just like any animal backing is the key, watch the skylining. Hunter orange shouldn't matter if you pay attention to the setup and remember the sense they possess - smell, hearing and then eyes.
