Southeastern US Bear Hunting
I am looking to do a bear hunt with hounds in the Southeastern US. If anybody hunts in VA,GA,SC,TN,or NC, could you maybe guide me in the right direction of who I should look for for a guide or if you are a bear hunter in one of these places, and would be willing to guide me that would be great as well. Thank you.

RE: Southeastern US Bear Hunting
JK,
Here are 2 numbers for guided bear hunts in coastal NC. Mike at 252-332-4767 and Gary at 336-451-0827. Hyde county NC has some of the best bear hunting and they kill several over 500lbs every year. I would call the NC wildlife law enforcement division at 919-707-0030 and ask for the name and # for the officers who patrol that county. Tell them you would like to talk with a warden because you live out of state and would like to bear hunt NC. A warden will know guides on a personal level and also might give you a contact for a hunt club in that area. also, an internet search of sporting goods stores or tackle shops in NC might yield a contact to a club as well. After all, those guyshave to buy their hunting stuff from somewhere. My club does' nt bear hunt but just for example, our guest fee for 1 day of deerhunting is $20. I would try to go that route and get on a bear hunt as a club guest. I'm sure you would spend less money and may have more fun.
