.300 wm-- .338wm --- 45/70 lever Thats a pretty awsome trio. There are alot of in between and alot bigger, faster i can do this and that but those three will work.

To get both animals, you will need a gun with some "umpth" but also a flat shooting gun. Also, as stated, you don't need to get a truly big "knock you down with the recoil"gun for the game you are after. Calibers I would choose in this order:

7mm rem mag
300 win mag
30-06

Also, I would suggest a bolt action. Don't want a semi-automatic or a single shot if you happen to have a grizzly charge!

If all Three where for myself the list would be:

280 Rem
338 Ultra Mag
416 Rem Mag

With those three I have the every kind of biggame covered from North America to Africa.

In the situation you described where there are three seperate individuals who need weapons but want each one to be different I would say:

338 Win Mag
338 Ultra Mag
300 Ultra Mag

Who needs three,I would go with a .338 win mag.
Top three for me since you could be shooting 300+ yds at bou. would be as follows.
1.300 Ultra mag 180 gr partions
2..338 win Mag 210 gr Partions
3.7mm Rem Mag 160 gr Partions
Bou are not hard to kill, but shots can be a stretch.Wan't enough umph for moose(plus when your are covered in blood the reasurance is nice).
I would go bolt gun all the way,and a nice 2.5-10 or 3-9 scope.

.300 wby
.338 wm
.340 wby

Use good bullets to each rifles liking, all are flat shooting for the longer shots and still have plenty of energy when they get there.
