Wolves are getting braver!!!
My hunting partner was out for the late season deer hunt just north of Boise. I had helped him pack in supplies for a bivy deer hunt earlier this fall. The snows came in heavy as he walked into his area 5 miles up a ridgeline. He set up his tent and while putting his blind out, noticed tracks of wolves and the remnants of a kill. When he looked up, 7 wolves were running at him and chased him back to his tent where he spent the next 15 hours stuck in histent with wolves howling, eating, and circling his tent. He had no gun and tried to sleep(yeah right) with an arrow in each hand waiting for the wolves to pounch his bivy tent. If you are a bowhunter and hunt one of the states with wolves, I would highly suggest carrying a pistol, before you become a statistic. It is only a matter of time before something bad happens.
Ralph, if you are out there reading this, please leave this thread alone, and yes wolves do suck, go back to your classroom........... The last comment comes because i found that pro wolf antihunters do troll the websites. I had a tif with one on another site where he crashed the thread!!!! |
RE: Wolves are getting braver!!!
I still say our grandfathers knew exactly what they were doing and had the job done quite nicely....
and then along came the enviro-whackos.... Would love a hunt in Canada/Alaska where (among other things) I could pop wolfie legally. |
RE: Wolves are getting braver!!!
A friend of a friend was up elk hunting last year, walking on a trail through the woods. He started seeing wolves, and they ended up circling him like an elk with obvious intent to take him down. Luckily he had a rifle, and after firing several shots (dont' remember if he killed any of the pests), the wolves finally backed off.
I've also heard several stories of guys finding wolf tracks over their old tracks, leaving them to believe that they were being followed. The Feds need to start listening to all of the wolf experts and accept our management plan before the situation gets WAY out of hand. |
RE: Wolves are getting braver!!!
yeah you can't trust those damn things. i talked to a farmer that lives somewhere around twin falls and he said they came in after his calves. i guess they counted 26 wolves in two days and one even charged his son on a 4 wheeler.
i heard of another guy that was archery hunting around copper basin, and he shot his bull and before he could over to where he fell there were wolves already on it and one i guess even snarled up and acted like he was goin to take him too. guess "somebody" (wink, wink) needs to do a little 3S Shoot, Shovel, Shut up |

RE: Wolves are getting braver!!!
I have yet to see any wolves, but have seen plenty of tracks, I live in Boise. I know they are out there and would not hesitate in killing one if it got aggressive towards me.

RE: Wolves are getting braver!!!
it sounds like the wolves over there are bold enough you probably don't want to see one...you might end up on the menu!
