RE: Im Back......
Hopefully next year will be better. I have heard that the area you were in seems to have less elk than in the past. I hunt in the northern panhandle and doesn't seem to be any decline in elk. If ya ever decide to come up north the odds may be better. Thanks for sharing.

Hillbilly, they saw me a split second before I saw them, and they got the heck out of dodge ASAP, didnt stick around at all. There were 4-5 of them. From the looks at all the tracks in that area, they had been using is for awhile, I followed them out the ridge about a mile and saw one set of deer tracks, seemed all the game had deserted the area, heck I dont blame them. Yep real shame they dont have wolf tags, one of those bad boys would look great on the wall.

In the pre wolf days ,about 1994 the odds of getting a bull in there was 33% .I was there then ,it was great ,now I do not think I could hunt the sailway b/c of the wolfs .the last time I was there all I heard in sept. were howls instand of bugles. It's out of control and there is nothing we can do about it now.Even if we kill everyone we see it will not help. Our wilderness is ruled my the wolf not hunters who can be controled .It's sader then my spelling. good luck to all.
