best state for Pronghorn
 

im interested in killing a respectable pronghorn to mount. id like to have a great time hunting them as well. im just interested inwhat states yall would recomemnd and even further what outfitters? im looking for the 2007 season

For DIY hunt-----WY----lots of goats & lots of public land & small trepass fees on the private. You'll look at a lot of goats & if you take your time youu'll get a pretty good one.

Trophy-----NM----but you'll have to get a landowner's tag & pay a pretty good price to an outfitter.

Good advice CB. Wyoming has more Antelope than people. It's not a joke!
More than half the state is public land. Nat'l Forest, BLM, State lands as well as an ever growing amount of free private land access found in the WY G&F site under "Public Access".
And no shortage of drawing capabilities either.

Not too many 17's here, but we don't get the growing season they do in NM or Arizona.

Cb is right.

No need to pay a outfitter in Wyoming. There are a lot of respectable goats and if you want to really do your home work you can find B&C goats.

No doubt New Mexico and Arizona have much better trophy quality but you will pay for it.

Wyoming is good, but they also have plenty of antelope in North-Western Nebraska on the panhandle.IMO there is limited hunting pressure on antelope around Chadron, Nebraska.

Gee I would have to say Wyoming. I have filled my tags the last 3 trips to Wy. Get a mule deer tag also. You will have alot of fun. car

Like already said, depends on if your wanting quality or quantity. Don't forget west Texas for quality. We have a ranch in Gale Texas that has been turning out mostly 80+" lopes for the last 4 years (we only hunt 6 hunters on a 60,000 acre ranch each year). AZ. over all is King for size as the tie for the WR are both AZ lopes but west Texas is definitley a sleeper when it comes toreally biglopes.

wasnt able to pull a WY tag for our first pronghorn hunt. did pull zone 7 in MT, bordering WY. Here's a shot from opening day. can't say enough good things about the number of antelope in SE MT. However, having said that, do think their overall quality, horn length that is, is only average. we scouted for some time, most of the dominant bucks were in this range. depends what youre looking for in a trophy. good luck.
