Montana Late Season Elk Hunt (Pics)
 

Here's the results of my late season elk hunt in Montana district 313. The shot was 375 yards (laser range finder) with a 280 Rem 160 grain Grand Slams. I'm very happy to say the least.

REG congrats great lookin bull. He looks like about a 340 bull or better from the picture but tough to tell from a picture give us some numbers. That was a trip well worth the miles you had to drive.
Do`nt look like much snow down there for this time of year how much.

Hey buck59 you're good, he grosses just under 350 he'd be more like 360 without the all the broken points, you really can't tell in the picture. I don't know the net score yet but probably in the high 330s. 53" beams, 42" inside spread, 19" & 18" thirds.

Not much snow, none down low. It's supposedly a slow year but we had no problem finding nice bulls and we were on foot. The cow hunters were having a tough time unless they had horses, the cows were right on top or way back from the roads.

PaJack, the Grand Slams worked great. This is the first time I've used them and I was very impressed, at such a long range they blew right through him.
