Bigger bears...Alberta or Manitoba?
 

Just booked a hunt into N. Alberta for next spring...truly looking for 19" or better bears. Where are the biggest black bears? I have seen pictures of HUGE bears coming out of Alberta....well furred, large heads. However, I have also seen pictures of bears in Manitoba...Huge. What do you think? Thanks

Both have some big bears. Its probably determined more by areas within areas. Good luck.

Saskatchewan are where the big bears are!!

Alberta,Saskatchewan and Manitoba all have big bears.Alberta allows two bears though,so you can take a nice bear,and still have a tag lefy to look for a huge bear.

British Columbia. Baiting is ILLEGAL in BC but the bears grow to HUGE proportions.

Thanks guys for the great responses. Hey...Saskatchewanoutdoors...nice bear definitely in the 20" class...however...i have seen pictures of a TON of these bears coming out of N. Alberta. I do like the 2 bear policy as well. Must be because they have larger population. B.C. does have big costal blacks....however...I haven't seen anything as big as what is coming out of Alberta and manitoba...largest skulls...why? I don't know...genetics?

2 bear in AB is a big selling point for the outfitters....Peace river has some beautiful color phases...

Check out the web site I gave you... 1 hr from my house. 18-20" Blackies on average. and a 2 bear limit too.
