Default This year's elk

Made it up the mountain yesterday. A bit of fresh snow was nice. Came across a small herd of elk shortly before dark. About a dozen cows, three calves, and three bulls. This cow was the first one I could get a clear bead on as they walked through some timber. Nice sized cow.

Wyo,
Congrats! Nothing wrong with cows especially when that is what the license says is allowed. Absolutely better eating. Yummy. Still waiting for the CWD test to come back on mine before jumping in.

Early,
How did the gutless method work for you?
First time is the worst and the back end is the trickiest.
Okay on the tenderloins (tight little fit)?
