Well if I was going after a griz.the min caliber I would be carring would be either 300 win mag or .338 mag with 454 casull for back up.Both rifles loaded with at least a 200 gr bullet. A 30-06 would be good for black bear (taken 5 with mine) Wouldn't try for a grizzly with it.AS for AR-15 in .223 you would better carring 2,30 round clips for it.
