ORIGINAL: MinnFinn Purcell, it's a real bear. However, the size, story about it killing Fish and Game officier / hiker, etc. is not. It was also shot by a fellow in the U.S. Air Force, not as some have said a Game officier. The "Snopes" link Charlie P included gives the real story. I sure wouldn't want to have to face that critter down with any rifle, if it was headed in my direct for sure... ;) |

Can you imagine the story this young fellow will be able to tell his kids and grand-kids for years to come?
I'm sure he was glad he had his .338 rather than a 7 mm mag as the "story" reported. I can't imagine and don't want to experience what he was thinking when this monster appeared 10 yards away after his first shot. [&:] |
