Price of hunting caribou
Boy has the price of hunting caribou in Quebec went up. I was looking at booking a hunt in 2007. After doing some checking most were around $4500. Just a few years ago you could go for $2500 to $3500. That's to bad because I was looking forward to going to Quebec to hunt caribou but not at that price. Not sure what to do now. Any suggestions car

Yes, if you're trophy hunting in July, August or September, you're going to pay big bucks. If you go up between Nov. 15and Feb. 15, the prices fall dramatically. Same caribou and they weigh more. Just not as many antlers. Prices then are from $1100.00 down as low as $400.00. Big difference without the antlers.

As BB66 has said you have to realize that caribou hunting is greatly dependant an the price of airplane fuel. The price of that has doubled in the last couple years. I remember when I flew in from Scefferville and had a overnighter there before the floatplane flight in the only restaurant sold slices of bread ( toasted ) for $2.50 each and that was 18 years ago !. Every single thing gets flown in.

Try woodland caribou in Newfoundland. The prices are very good if you stick with 1 animal either bou or moose. The price for 2 animals is on par or a little less than Quebec. Pretty easy drive from New England and reachable by air from most major airports.
