Go to topics from the last 120 days, page 5. The heading should read "It was suppossed to be a relaxing deer hunt". Posted by dalliwacker. He has some pics. of the griz. he shot, all 1000 lbs.+ of him, I hope this is the on your talking about.

If this is regarding the pics of a person who was supposedly charged by the bear, and he is shown holding up the paw, and in many of the e-mails it is referred to as a new world record, then I'm sorry to tell you that it is bogus.

The bear was actually shot breadside at 100 yards and the guy was hunting bear. It was a HUGE bear, but not a world record, and he was never charged by the bear.

Sorry to burst the bubble.

Dalliwacker was involved with taking that bear, not sure if it was him or his buddy that killed it. He was hunting deer at the time I believe. I also believe he stated it would be in the top 100 of all time, would have been number 1 if taken with a bow.

I sure appreciate your knowledge on the subject, but I hate to bust YOUR bubble. The bear was shot at 10 yds not 100, perhaps you fat fingered an extra zero. You weren't totally accurate on the broadside shot either. The first actual shot was place under the left eye, just off the side of the muzzle. The rest were broadside shots. I'll give you a B- for your effort though.

The official score was 28 14/16, and based on the last edition of B&C it will tie with a few others at 150. As far as who shot the bear, we both did, who claims the bear, Ted (the guy pictured) does.

The pictures of a large brown bear being circulated through e-mail have been going around for a couple years. The story goes that it was charging a deer hunter and he shot it just before the bear got him. Everything I said in the post was true. I know nothing about your bear. Please go back and re-read my original post and an apology will be accepted for your course words.
