Flat top wilderness Elk hunt Unit 24 In Colorado
 

I am planning a Archery elk hunt for fall 2006. I am starting to look at Unit 24 in the flat top wilderness east of Meeker CO. Does anyone have any info on hunting that unit good or bad?

Any Info would be appreciated!

The FlatTops has it's share of game, but it's a HUGE area. Assuming you will have pack animals, you'll want to make a days ride in to avoid lots of hunters and find the game. If you don't have your own packers, you might consider renting. Good luck.

This is a great unit. And crowding during the archery season is not much of an issue anywhere in Colorado - particularly in the Flattops. Horses or mules are a must to get in there and, more imporatant,get your elk out.
