Scent training

I've been thinkin alot about my upcomming bear season and one thing that always worries me is my scent. I know about playing the wind and using cover scent and all, but has anybody ever tried this: Leave an article of your dirty clothing out over night near your bait pile. Every time you bait, bring a new article.
Would this train the bear to get used to my scent, or would this just deter him from visiting the pile? He is obviously familiar with my scent on the bait. Just thought it might be worth a try. Any insight would be appreciated.

I did that once several years ago on one of our first bear stands. I did it because of something I read somewhere. I tied an old sweaty tee shirt in a tree by the stand. I don't know if it helped or hurt. We had a big bear coming in so I know it didn't scare him off.

they will get used to your scent and not be affected much if any by your smell when your hunt comes along
