Elk Archery Decoy

Ok, With all my other hobbies I just don't spend enough time archery hunting, I am a rifle guy.
This year I am going all out and got my bow set up with new goodies and am going to hunt the rut.
A friend of mine who is really into archery in Lewistown swears by this little known decoy.I just got mine in the mail. Has anyone of you die hard archery hunters used one of these?
My friend states he even has coyotes walk up to him as well as being able to get in close to the elk without spooking them.

I don't know about you but I am not too keen on the idea of hiding behind a decoy to go hunting. Definetly not the smartest thing a hunter could do while hunting.

Haven't you ever seen the older cartoons that show the hunter dressed up like a deer one minute and then on the hood of a car the next?

I would much rather use a Montana or Renzo decoy and set it up so I was off to the side about 10 yards and about 20 - 30 yards closer to the bull.

I wanna say this I'm not his buddy in Lewistown.:D:D:D

MT Bob I have seen those in the stores butI have never used one,a guyI work with used the antelope one to kil his goat last year.Worked great killed him at 10 feet.
My problem is there are lots of guys I know that shoot just cow elk, that is what they want, and a cow decoy on my head is well just a little to risky.
I will just set up one and step to the side.

Now I realize that a guy wouldn't want to use one during the rifle season, But our rifle and archery seasons here are seperate and I am not to concerned about being drawn on in the places I hunt anyway, just looking for someone who has used the thing and there results:D

I've used the Montana decoy, rump edition, and I've spooked a few elk with it, and had a couple cows come right up to it to check it out. I think in our area here Bob you would be safe with it, your welcome to use my Montana decoy as well.

I have a older decoy (can't remember the brand) and I also have the new Montaina Cow Elk III aka Miltilda. They work awesome! This year big Al Moris is going to put the Cow Elk III on film for Hunters Specialties Prime Time Bulls number 4. I can wait to see him and the decoy in action.
