I shot this bear in 2003, but just got the mount back last week. I am on the left in the first pic. I shot it in June 2003 with my 30-06. My uncle is to my right in the pic. He shot his bear with a bow. Both bears are chocolate coloured and they were shot about 10-15 minutes apart at baits 3/4 of a mile apart. My bear weighed 418 lbs and my uncle's weighed 392 lbs. Skull scores were 20 11/16 and 20 4/16 respectively.

Here's a pic of my mount. It takes up a lot of space but i like the way it turned out. I doubt I will ever get lucky enough to get one this size again, so I wanted to get it done in a full mount.

Porintree...I think you shot my bears twin. Mine weighed 415 lbs and measured 20 11/16 :D Althogh mine was dark black and I shot it in north central Pa.

Can you try posting the mount pic again? I have never seen a full body mount of a bear.

Nice pair of chocolate bears. Where did you get them? I want a red colored bear so bad. I had the chance a few years ago but it was before the season when I spotted him. They started logging the area two days later and we had to move on.:(

Hey WARedbear. I live in Manitoba, Canada. The bears were shot on the northeast edge of Riding Mountain National Park. There are very high bear densities andmany different colour phase bears in this area, so it's excellent bear hunting. I saw a blondish brown one this spring that was almost as big, but didn't get him. Maybe this fall.
