Shampoo on Hunting Trips
Is there any special type of shampoo that you people use on pack in hunting trips... i know there is like scent eliminatior laundry detergent... but i know shampoo like head and shoulder has a strong scent and i think it would be easy for animals to wind you.

Moose,
You can buy scent eliminating shampoo/body washfrom places like Sportsman's Warehouse, Cabellas and many others. I like this because you tend to sweat from your head alot during an early hunt in the middle of the day. It really helps to keep the scent down. Good luck.

I am packing along some "dry" shampoo that is unscented. It can picked up at Wal-Mart or about any department store. I didn't even know such a thing was made until my wife told me about nursing homes and hospitals using it. No water is needed and I am told it is an effective shampoo. I am taking it along on my elk hunt because my showering opportunities will be very limited.

Yes the scent free/scent eliminateing stuff is worth the time and effort. There are tons of scent eliminator soaps ect...wall mart has an entire line thats pretty cheap. Also arm&hammer has some unscented deodorant that works really well and is cheaper than the other brands.

The key term I saw was: "pack in hunt" I would say showering will be almost non existant. I would recommend buying unscented baby wipes ,dry shampoo, andsome unscented deordorant. You can wipe down as best you can with the baby wipes and wash your hair with the dry shampoo. Then use the deordarant liberally. Its not perfect but it will get you by. Invest in a cover scent as well.
