I know you probably won't like this and most likely will disregard it anyway, but here goes. I think 400 gr arrow is plenty.I digress though. Gold tip arrows are absolutely the best bar none. they have a straightness quarantee of +/- .001". Carbons are the only way to go in my opinion. If you buy Gold Tip Pro Hunter 7595 you will have one hell of a tough, straight, and accurate arrow. they weight approx. 10 grains per inches. cut then at 30 inches = 300 gr. add approx. 45-50 gr for fletching and insert, add 125 grain broadhead. grand total of 475 gr. bump it up to 150 gr broadhead if you want (can't imagine why) and you are 500. Heres the bad part Gold Tips are expensive. about $125 a dozen but they are worth it in my eyes.

Shato, not to be the bearer of bad news but if you are paying $125 for Gold tip pro hunters you are paying way too much.

The black arrows with vanes should only run about $90 and the camo arrows with vanes should only be about $95 - $100.

You might want to shop around a little.;)

Ok I am going to have to share my setup and why I like it.A carbon express cxl hunter at 28" and an Abowyer 135 grain head with adapter. Total arrow weight is 610. I like it becouse My bow is quiet and forgiving and my arrows penetrate. My father in law is the broadhead manufacturer. They are nearly indestructable I have seen them punch thru a bulls shoulder and still get to the fletch.I have had alot of opportunity to play with arrow and head setups and I am completely satified with mine. Go heavy and you wont get that sick feeling in your stomach when that cant miss shot ends up a little far forward and your arrow doesnt get to the boiler room. in stead you willl be looking at your animal going Holy **** did that penetrate. AndLarry (father in law) is shooting the cabelas 60-75 carbons they are alot smaller in dia than mine (good for penetration)and they performequally as good.


Elk nut do you have the video with the threat on it in stock? I think I would like to add it to my arsenal....

320Bull---Yes it's in stock! It's Vol-4 "Worse Than Wolves" It's worth checking out if you're tired of Herd Bulls giving you the slip!! It will raise your percentages immensely. Yeah thats about what I paid but I haven't bought arrows in a few years so I was quessing at what they cost these days. Unless, I decide to shoot a rock pile or something I don't foresee needing to buy arrows for quite a while. Although, one tough 3-D shoot can trash my quiver in a hurry[8D]

Ok my 2 cents for what it's worth! i think 600 grains is a bit over kill, say what you want but if you have more than 68 pounds of KE you can pretty much take down any animal in North America.. so why sacrafice speed if u dont have to?? Here in AZ
where the big bulls are plentiful, i know several guys who have smashed bulls with minimal KE.. and some that swear on mech-blades with close range shots due to the amount of KE they pump out.. For the record i will be hunting bulls this year in AZ, and my set up is currently 425 4000 vapors 100 magnus buzzcuts. some say it may be light but i amsmashing bullseyes out to 65yrds and my arrows fly as quiet as a blow dart.... and hit like a hammer....[8D]
