Colorado Muzzleloading
 

I thought that I had heard that Colorado did not allow in-line muzzleloaders to be used, can anyone tell me if that is true or not? Also I saw on their website that no sabots are allowed. Does this mean you could only shoot a round ball? Does anyone out there muzzleload for Elk in Colorado? If so can you give me your set up?

*Inlines are legal,
*scopes are illegal,
*sabots are illegal, bullets must be full bore and no more than 2 times bore diameter in length. IE... a 50 caliber ML can legally shoot a bullet up to 1.02 inches long.
*pelletized powder is illegal... it must be in granual form.
*50 caliber is minimum for elk and moose... 45 caliber is legal for deer and smaller

Bigbulls is correct. Two seasons ago I went to CO m/l hunting. Took a nice 5x5 with 110 gr 777, 2f powder,and a 348 gr Aerotip Powerbelt. Worked him for 45 minutes before he showed. One shot at about 85 yards and he side stepped twice and tipped over.

Again, no scope, no powder pellets, 50 cal, no sabots. (Power belts fit the bill nicely)

Thats pretty good wrap up you can use power belts they have good knockdown.

In addition to what has been said. My group uses both 348 and 405 grain 50 caliber powerbelts. You can also use big conicals such as maxiballs, buffalo bullets, and no excuses bullets.
