Wyoming nonresident elk tag
Bought an elk hunt in the Thorofare Region at a local RMEF banquet. Will need to draw a tag (will start applying in Jan 06). Any advise on how to draw quickly.

RE: Wyoming nonresident elk tag
That is a general area. Odds are better than limited quota areas. Also, the tag that costs more some times has better odds. Go to the G&F site and do some research, make sure the area you bought the hunt in is general. Your outfitter should be able to help you.
Between the wolves and bears the elk numbers are down, the G&F won't admit it. |

RE: Wyoming nonresident elk tag
Last elk tag I had in Wyoming was 97. I apply every year for general tags or the high dollar tag and still no tag, had some deer tags.
Good Luck |
RE: Wyoming nonresident elk tag
Chopper, I booked an elk hunt in the Thorofare this year and drew a tag the first year I applied. The regular non-resident tag is $481. The Special Elk tag is $881. The difference being, the odds of getting drawn. Your odds in the regular draw are about 20 %. The odds in the special draw are about 60-75%. These are for General area tags. Good luck on the draw next year. I'm not sure what the new point system will do to odds then.
