Changing pads on 2000 Explorer
Yes,
I have a 2000 2wheel drive Explorer. My pads are good but I'm asking this question for the future. I noticed the caliber has 2 cylinders on them instead of one. They are the type to be pushed in with a C-clamp. Am I supposed to push them in one at a time or both at one time. Thanks , Chuck |
RE: Changing pads on 2000 Explorer
Hi chuck... push them both in at once. If you dont you will push the other piston out while trying to get one in.Also if you loosing the bleeder screw it will let them slide in better. ten yard

THANKYOU that was very helpful and might of saved me from messing up my caliber. The pads are 50.00 Will I need to bleed the brakes when I;m through?
THANKS, Chuck |
RE: Changing pads on 2000 Explorer
You might have too, if you pump up the brake peddle 2 or 3 times when you get done that will tell you if bleeding is needed. Normally you dont have too bleed brakes when you change the pads or the shoes. ten yard
