I'm bout an hour away, ya Ive heard the same thing. I've been up there since they've brought them in but haven't seen any. They have already had to come and get one from our county and return it.

So I also vote for roost raiders.

Anyone who volunteers for captin has my vote.

Was out scouting this past weekend. Came across the flock of 20 or so and almost stepped on a gobbler.....literally. Saw him walk across a creek on a log. I snuck around to get ahead of him to see what he was. Did not see him so I went up the creek bank to get a view over the brush. Stop and glass and then all heck breaks loose in the deadfall not 2 feet from me. I would have had an easy shot as he struggled to get out of there! Nice beard about 8-10 in or so.

They stick pretty close to the farm I am on so he should be around. Not to mention Just got 35 more acres to hunt!

Scouting our 2nd farm this coming weekend out in Dodgeville wi.

I can work on a logo but I have limited time so if anyone wants to I think that would be great, what do you think El Captain?

I'm going to scout for a flock tomorrow late afternoon till dark trying to locate the roost if I locate the flock thurs, then move try to locate more roosts for other flocks and and gps mark them if poss so I'll have multiple new places to hunt if the Rio hunt is a bust or their are no long beard Rios.

Watched a long beard and six hens two nights ago. Seen some decent sized flocks while driving around.

Got some good scouting in the past few days. Lots of sign and almost stepped on a Tom hunkered down in a deadfall. Next weekend is the youth hunt I will be guiding and then it is off to my season on the 10th.

Season opens up April 15th here in Iowa.. Cant Wait.. Seen alot of turkeys out and about yesterday while driving... Tried to roost some friday night but there not struting or gobbling yet around these parts.. Going to be a long two week wait...

What a difference a couple days make. Have been seeing some but no gobbling. Had 3 longbeards with 14 hens and they wouldn't say a word. Yesterday the switch must have been flicked. I'll bet I heard 100 different gobbles out of 3 birds yesterday evening. They were tearing it up at 6:10 this morning. I have 2 weeks left, the youth seson starts this saturday and I hope the kido's whack out some monsters.

No problem it happens. Good luck if anybody is getting out already. I know my stepdad and brothers are killing them in GA already they got 5 birds this past weekend between the 3 of them.

I will be doing some of both my goal is to take my first bird with my bow and then my second with a shotgun but if I am not having any luck the first week with my bow I will have to take the shotgun out.

I will be be getting to take my boss's kid out this coming weekend for youth season here in MO. I can't wait it will be a first for me taking a kid out. He has never been before so hopefully I can get him on some birds.

Im hunting in the Southwestern part.. What about you ??

I hunt mostly in north central but make a trip or two to south eastern Iowa every year. Don't know what to do this year with the snow we still have. May be better to hunt down south only. Till 4th season.
