Best scope??

I bought a Gamo Hornet Maxim and am looking to upgrade the cheap scope that it came with. What would be a good upgrade in the 50.00 range?

Thanks.
Ron.

You can try the Cabela's line of rimfire scopes. They have one for $49 and is a straight 4X which is plenty for an air rifle. I have one on one of my .22LRs and I'm thinking of getting one for my air rifle.

I got my father-in-law a Barska Huntmaster for his Marlin 60 .22LR; one of his criteria was having a silver finish to go along with his stainless barrel. But it has worked well.

I am using discovery scope on my Kalibrgun cricket, crystal clear view

Informative information for me.

Another good option is the Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12× or 4-16×. They have great glass, AO down to 10 yards, and you can find them with the BDC reticle for under $300. Great price for what you get in this scope.

Don't want to start trouble but I thought it took an air rifle scope to with stand air rifle recoil. Just thinking a cheap rim fire scope may not stand up to air rifle recoil. I am not sure if what I have stated is true or may only apply to certain types of air rifles. If some one could clear this up would help the OP and my self.

dont know what the prices of air gun scopes are but you dont want to use regular 22 scopes on an air gun. the recoil is a bit too much for the 22 scope. back when i worked in a gun store the salesman for air guns told us that when a customer wanted a scope to put on an air gun to tell them to get an air gun scope. wild bill, your statement is true.

I thought I was on the right track thank you for confirming Mr.Slim.
